A used Primo Viaggio SIP 5-65 car seat. I have used 4 different car seats, and this is the Rolls-Royce of car seats. It is made in Italy. Everything about it is premium. It easily attaches to the car using the LATCH system and saves your fingers. It can be positioned forward- or rear-facing in the car. It is easy to load and unload the kid. It is super comfortable for the kid. It has side-protection. The upholstery is very easy to remove and is machine-washable.
Light color of the fabric is a plus since it does not heat up as much under the sun. Most car seats have black fabric and promote it as stain-masking. This should be illegal, since after seating in a parking lot under the sun black fabric becomes so hot it will easily burn you, leave alone a baby. And what are you going to do once it is hot? Find a shade? Good luck with that at a Costco parking lot. Turn on A/C? It will do nothing to a hot surface. A/C only cools air, not surfaces. Your only choice is put a blanket underneath the baby, but 1.it is illegal 2.the fabric beside the head is still going to be exposed. The only solution is light colored fabric. And the solution to stains is not black color; it is easily washable upholstery, like this one.
This car seat accommodates kids from 5lb to 65lb, meaning you can use it until about 10 years old.
